  • Al Warrington

    Alfred C. Warrington IV

    “Because I love this school.”

    Al Warrington is a dyed-in-the-wool Gator who has a long history of support for UF. He was instrumental in creating the School of Accounting in the 1970s. In 1996, he established an endowment at the College of Business Administration to which UF added his namesake in his honor. When asked why he established an endowment at UF, he replied simply, “Because I love this school.”

    Gary R. Gerson's beginnings were at the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA. He achieved success through talent, hard work, an unwavering commitment to his clients, and his community. His tremendous dedication continues to drive him today.

    J. Michael Cook

    J. Michael Cook is the retired Chairman and C.E.O. of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Mr. Cook has written and spoken extensively on international accounting standards, business globalization, auditor independence, corporate governance, gender equality in the workplace, tort and securities law reform, and has often testified before Congress on professional issues.

    Joelen K. Merkel

    Joelen K. Merkel began her education and career in accounting at a time when there were very few female staff at the Big 8 accounting firms. Her professional successes have set an example not only for women in accounting, but for all accounting professionals. She has worked hard and honestly and has brought pride to UF and the Accounting profession.
